The Carmi Police Department, along with units from Mt. Carmel, Edwards County, and federal Fish & Wildlife Police, conducted a K9 detail at Carmi-White County Junior/Senior High School on Wednesday, February 28th.
During the patrol, one of the K9s alerted on a vehicle, and with the driver present, officers conducted a search that turned up a leafy green substance that tested positive for cannabis, digital scales, and a can of beer.
The 16 year old male juvenile was taken into custody for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor and was cited for possession of marijuana. The juvenile was taken to the Carmi Police Department and later released to the custody of his parent.
