Hamilton County State’s Attorney Justin Hood was unanimously elected President of the Illinois State’s Attorneys Association by his fellow State’s Attorneys at the Association’s 82nd annual conference held in Chicago on December 13th. State’s Attorney Hood is the first Hamilton County State’s Attorney ever to be elected President of the Association.
The Illinois State’s Attorneys Association is a bi-partisan organization composed of all elected State’s Attorneys throughout the State of Illinois whose purpose is to promote the orderly administration of justice and the enforcement of the law.
State’s Attorney Hood will also direct the Association’s Legislative Committee which reviews and initiates legislation designed to more effectively prosecute criminals and prevent crime.
State’s Attorney Hood stated: “I appreciate the honor to be elected by my colleagues to this important position in the Association. I intend to work closely with my fellow State’s Attorneys to ensure the highest quality of prosecutorial services to the citizens of Illinois.”
