The third week of It’s a White County Christmas beings on November 25th with the Christmas Shopping Stroll. Participating merchants include The Courtyard, HD Bean Jewelers, Karger Kollectibles, Rediscovered Treasures, Wild Imaginations Boutique and Merle Norman Cosmetics and Boutique.
Saturday, November 26, beings with a craft and vendor show from 9 am – 3pm at Washington School Gym. The Holiday Shopping Stroll also continues on Saturday.
At 1pm on Saturday, November 26, a free showing of The Polar Express movie will be held in the old college building next to the Carmi Elks Lodge. Families are encouraged to come and enjoy the movie.
The highlight of the weekend will be the Memories of Christmas Past Lighted Christmas parade, which beings at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Santa will be officially welcomed to Carmi during the parade. The parade will depart from the First Baptist Church parking lot. Floats will travel down Oak to Third Street. At Third, the parade will turn north and proceed to Stewart Street. At Stewart Street, the parade will turn east and proceed to Cherry Street. The parade will turn east on Cherry Street and travel to Main Cross Street. At Main Cross, the parade will turn right and proceed to Veteran’s Memorial Park.
Santa will again be in his house on November 27 from 2-5pm.
The Christmas parade will be immediately followed by the Tree Lighting in Veteran’s Park. Following the Tree Lighting, Santa will visit with children in his house until 9 pm.
