The Illinois State Police would like to make the traveling public aware of lane and road closures during the day on Wednesday, July 5th, and Thursday, July 6th, 2017. During the majority of the day on both days, the Illinois State Police will be assisting the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) with an oversized equipment permit move.
On Wednesday, July 5th, the permit move will begin at approximately 7:00 am on Illinois Route 130, south of Albion. The permit move is scheduled to travel from its starting point south of Albion and travel to Fairfield. Throughout the day, Illinois Route 130 in Edwards County and Illinois Route 15 in Edwards and Wayne Counties will experience closures during the move. On Thursday, July 6th, once again the permit move will begin at 7:00 am, originating in Fairfield and will conclude near Flora. Roads impacted on Thursday will include Illinois Route 15 in Wayne County, and US 45 in Wayne and Clay Counties.
Prior to and during the permit moves, the roads impacted will be closed to prepare for and allow the extremely large load to safely travel and maneuver to the final destination each day. If in the area, be alert for slowed or stopped traffic.
Motorists should look for IDOT message boards along the routes for additional information on road closures and delays. Please help us by avoiding the impacted areas on Wednesday, July 5th, and Thursday, July 6th, and seeking alternate routes to your destinations.
