Illinois State Police District 19 investigated a traffic accident in Saline County Monday morning that sent an Eldorado man to the hospital.
Just after 9:40 am according to the initial crash report, 61 year old William Howard was driving east on US 45 when he disregarded the stop light at Route 142 and was struck by a semi driven by 35 year old Lincoln McMillen of Marion.
Howard was transported by ambulance and then helicopter to a regional hospital. McMillen was not injured. Howard was cited for disobeying a traffic signal.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, Eldorado Police Department, Eldorado Fire Department, Med Force Ambulance Service, Air Evac, Jones’ Towing, and Wright’s Towing.
