Wednesday at approximately 3:00, Gibson County Correctional Officers found Charles Bradley Sherman, 52, of Princeton, hanging in his cell. Correctional officers immediately initiated CPR before he was transported by ambulance to Gibson General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigation revealed Sherman was in his personal cell without his cellmate for approximately two hours. When the cellmate attempted to enter his cell he discovered Sherman hanging from a bedsheet.
According to Gibson County Sheriff Tim Bottoms, Sherman was incarcerated on June 16 for Residential Entry. He recently received additional charges of Dealing Methamphetamine.
Indiana State Police Detectives do not suspect foul play. An autopsy has been scheduled.
