In October 2016, the Illinois Masonic Grand Lodge announced it would be closing their Illinois Masonic Children’s Homes. Throughout the winter, Masonic leadership pursued talks with various agencies to examine possible options to preserve this valuable service. We are pleased to announce that as of April 1st, 2017, another regional not-for-profit organization will assume operations of the Illinois Masonic Children’s Home in Murphysboro.

Julie O’Connor, the current Associate Administrator of the Murphysboro homes, will continue to lead the work at the facility and shares her excitement as well, “We are thrilled and look forward to working with this organization to keep this vital service in place for these young people without any interruption to their care.”
