The Safekids Hope Center Roundtable discussion was a huge success.
Speakers Mark Wells and Mary and Howard Zelleers spoke on a wide range of topics. Mark shared a lot on Special Needs Children and their Safety needs along with School bus Safety and Gun Safety.
The Zellers spoke on Safe Families for Children. The Safe Families is somewhat new to this area and the Zellers are passionate about sharing with other community groups about this. Mary and Howard Zellers canbe reached at 618-445-3338 to have them come speak.
Other topics that were discussed and felt were important to this area were, (Distracted Driving/texting while driving, ATV’s Safety, Underage Drinking, Drinking, Drugs such as Marijuana and Prescription Drugs, Pool Safety, Grocery Cart accidents, and watching out for kids at school crossings.
This list is not all encompassing but it does give the Hope Center and hopefully other programs what might be important to address in tehe upcoming months.
