A Harrisburg man is safe after having to be rescued early Saturday morning. Saline County Sheriff’s authorities say 41 year old David K. Duffy was trapped in a culvert drain near 100 Public Street in Muddy. It was just before 10:30 Saturday morning when dispatchers received the call.
After locating Duffy within an approximately 14 inch drain pipe, EMS and Fire Department personnel were able to extract him and take him to Harrisburg Medical Center for treatment.
Officials say they still don’t know exactly why Duffy was in the culvert drain or just how long he’d been stranded there. A neighbor in the area said he’d heard something strange around 6:30 in the morning while walking his dog, but couldn’t tell where the sound was coming from.
