An 18 year old Carmi man, Brett A. Hansman is behind bars in the White County Jail following his arrest in the alley behind 600 8th Street in Carmi Wednesday afternoon. He was charged with Reckless Driving, three counts of Aggravated Battery on Law Enforcement Officers, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, and Illegal Possession of Cannabis in a vehicle. One officer was transported by private vehicle to Deaconess Hospital where he was treated and released. Hansman was transported to Hamilton Memorial Hospital by White County Ambulance Service. He was treated and released back into the custody of the White County Sheriff’s Department.
