A 22 year old Hamilton County man is in jail following his arrest by Carmi PD Monday night. A traffic report indicates an officer pulled over Kaiden Akin of Macedonia around a quarter after 9pm after noticing hisblack Honda only had one headlight and a loud exhaust. During the traffic stop on the 1300 block of Oak, law enforcement found Akin driving on a suspended vehicle registration. In addition, he didn’t have proof of insurance, his license was suspended, and Akin also had an active Hamilton County arrest warrant. While officers inventoried Akin’s vehicle, they located two open beer cans in the floorboard according to the report and also a small plastic bag that contained what was later identified as meth residue. Akin will be due in court with Judge Tedeschi on September 9th for a First Appearance. His active warrant dates back to a 2015 Felony Burglary.
