Hamilton County Board members will hold their September meeting this coming Tuesday. WROY/WRUL News will have 3 meetings total to cover that evening with the Carmi City Council and Enfield Village also set to convene. The Hamilton County gathering will get underway at 6pm from the second floor court room on the square in McLeansboro.
Items to be covered include board member Chad May who’s set to explain the ClearWave and ICN (Illinois Century Network) Agreements prior to signing. Regular reports are also expected including Sheriff Tracy Lakin’s monthly review and time will be made to discuss applications for a deputy position, Merit Commission, and the School Resource Officer. McLeansboro Police Chief Nathan Taylor will also give a report, but wearing one of his other hats, this time as the EMA Director. Dorothy Smith will have an ETSB report as well and a representative from Bellwether will give it’s monthly Administrative Services report.
The consent agenda includes the acceptance of multiple checks totaling more than $75,000 coming from the sale of plat books, Hamilton County’s Health Department, Hamilton County Coal, and the city of McLeansboro (for dispatching). Also as part of that consent agenda, the board is expected to appoint Kelly “Williams” Karcher to the Hamilton Memorial Hospital Board. Assuming her confirmation, she’ll take the spot of Katie Folden, whose term expires at the end of June, 2021.
Only two items made the New Business section of the agenda. Those are discussion and potential approval of Addendum Article IV which addresses Violations and Penalties to the 2nd Amended Liquor Ordinance from May of 2015 and approval of the claims and late claims list.
The public will be welcome to make comments and board members will have the opportunity to freely discuss items before adjourning Tuesday evening. Stay with WROY/WRUL News. We’ll have an update coming your way Wednesday morning.
