GWRPC Grants to Local Communities
The Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission recently secured grant funding for three communities in the region through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity; Community Development Block Grant Program.
Carmi will receive just over $90,000 to provide sewer access to homes along Marguerite Street.
Bridgeport will receive $500,000 to rehabilitate the sewer treatment plant. Big Mound Township will receive over $100,000 on behalf of the Boyleston Water District to provide water to seven homes in Big Mound Township that currently do not have access to public water.
The grants are yearly competitive grants will will be administered by the Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission.
