The Grayville City Council will meet Monday night at 7:00pm. In the Executive Session, Council will discuss the hiring of a new Police Chief in Training and adjust the Police Department Holiday Pay. They will cover old business items concerning the demolition of abandoned properties, changes to the Liquor Ordinance, and part-time Police Officer pay. New business will include a Grayville Days request for assistance with electrical work, an additional TIF #2 request for the Paula and John Krankel Agreement, the acceptance of donated property at 413 N. State Road, a Christmas Parade Resolution, the acceptance of the City Insurance proposal for liability, worker’s comp, auto, property, Inland Marine, Public Official Bonds, etc., Tax Levy Estimates, and a road closure request for the Annual Boo Bash at the park. The Carmi City Council will meet Tuesday at 5:30pm in City Council Chambers. The agenda includes discussion on Ordinance #1552 to authorize Wayne-White Counties Electric Corporation to construct, operate and maintain an electric utility system in the City of Carmi and a request from Chamber Director Shana Northcott to stage the White County Christmas Parade and close South Main Cross Street from Main Street to the alley from November 25 to January 6 for the Santa House to be placed near Veteran’s Park. Council will also award a bid and approve authorization for the Mayor and City Clerk to sign documents on the Industrial Drive Grant Project, consider a TIF Agreement with Carmi Health Clinic by Horizon Healthcare Clinics and a pay request for the Marguerite Street grant. There will also be reports from Mayor Pollard and Standing Committees. A Closed Session to discuss possible litigation will follow the meeting with no action expected. The Enfield Village Board will meet at 7:00 pm Tuesday. Among the items on the agenda’s old business will be further discussion on whether or not to permit the sale of cannabis in the village of Enfield. That matter was tabled at the last meeting as many of the board members wanted to know if allowing the purchase would generate enough revenue for the village to make it worthwhile. There will also be further discussion on the purchase of a 2008 Ford Ranger for the Utilities Department, closing Main Street for the Annual Masonic Lodge Car Show, and Clean-up Day, which will be held on October 26th from 7 – 11AM for village residents. New business will include discussion of a request to close a portion of Main Street on Halloween, October 31st, for Trunk or Treat, the setting of Trick or Treat hours, and the George Bridges property. There will also be reports from the Treasurer, Police Department, Utilities Department, and a Park Report, as well as an Executive session. The Hamilton County Board will meet at 6:00pm Tuesday in the second floor Courtroom of the Hamilton County Courthouse for what appears to be a very busy meeting. There will be department reports from Sheriff Lakin, EMA Director Nathan Taylor, Dorothy Smith with the ETSB Board Report, and an Administrative Services Report from Bellwether, LLC. The Board will discuss and approve the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget, discuss and approve a Special Meeting for the purpose of a Truth & Taxation Hearing to be held October 24th at 6:00pm at the Laborer’s Local 1197 Union Hall, assign a Committee Chairman for the Ambulance Services Committee, and discuss and approve a Letter of Agreement between Bellwether LLC and Hamilton County. The Consent Agenda will include the acceptance of a check from the Hamilton County Extension in the amount of $100 for the sale of 4 plat books, acceptance of checks from the Hamilton County Health Department for the month of September, a royalty summary report from Hamilton County Coal, acceptance of a check from the City of McLeansboro per the Central Dispatching Agreement in the amount of $4,000, approval of the July Activity Report and Fiscal Year 2020 Budget Resolution submitted by Dr. Beth Rister, Superintendent of ROE District #20, and approval of a resolution regarding the participation of the State’s Attorney’s Appellate Prosecutor Program. New business will include a request for startup funding and an update on the 2021 Bicentennial Celebration from Andy Rubenacker and Jerry Prince, discussion and approval of the Fiscal Year 2020 Renewal of Liability and Workers Compensation Insurance and an Unemployment Insurance Proposal from Kevin Kern and Ray Diel with Snedeker Risk Management, approval of the Claims List and Late Claims with signatures of approval, a request of support for the Amy Schulz Child Advocacy Center, a request of support for the Hamilton Memorial Hospital Foundation, and a Thank You from the McLeansboro Kiwanis for support of the 2019 Fall Festival. Member discussion items will include a request from County Clerk Mary Anne Hopfinger to partner with the City of Mcleansboro to purchase Christmas Decorations surrounding the courthouse, a request from Chad May for Handicap door opener/closures, setting of a date for the Christmas Party, and a reminder of the Liquor Commission Meeting that will be held prior to November 19th Hamilton County Board Meeting.
