A Grayville man was arrested by Carmi Police Wednesday morning on an Edwards County warrant following a traffic stop.
22 year old James McFarland was stopped for driving the wrong way on Fair Street by Lincoln School at 10:18 am. McFarland was found to be wanted on a failure to appear warrant for possession of methamphetamine. A search of his vehicle turned up a Knight Mk 85 muzzle loader rifle, and McFarland was additionally charged with unlawful use of weapons by a felon.
McFarland was transported to the White County Jail. He is being held on a bond amount of $325 on the Edwards County charge and without bond pending a court hearing on the new weapons charge.
