The Grayville City Council will meet Monday night at 7:00 pm for what looks to be a very busy meeting. During the Executive session, council will appoint a full-time Chief of Police, hear from Botsch & Associates and approve the 2018-2019 audit, further discuss Ordinance Number 877 to amend the Zoning Chapter to allow for adult-use cannabis, and discuss the demolition of abandoned properties. They will also talk about changes to the Liquor Ordinance, employee evaluations, and part-time police officer pay. Council will review a request for property in the Grayville Industrial Park Phase II and a Zoning request for special use. A public hearing on the matter is set for October 14. There will also be further discussion of the sale of the old library building and changing the locks on city owned property. They will approve the 2019 Motor Fuel Tax Program, review an application from Grayville VFW to solicit donations for Flag Day, November 9th, and hear a request for the Grayville Chamber of Commerce to block North Street for the Annual Car Show, October 6th. Council will also hear reports from the Treasurer, Utility Manager, City Attorney, Commissioners, and Mayor. WROY/WRUL news will have that meeting covered and will bring you a full report on Tuesday morning.
