Gold Sponsors named for Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble

The Carmi Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize First Bank and Peoples Bank for being our Gold Level Sponsors for this tournament

The Carmi Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Golf Tournament Saturday, June 23rd at Carmi Country Club. Golfers are needed for both the 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. shotgun starts.

“The money raised will be used to continue the Chamber’s scholarship program, continue competitive classroom grants for Carmi-White County teachers and investing in the White County CEO Program,” said Education Committee Chairman Lisa Wolff

The “best-ball” tournament format features four-person teams at a cost of $50 per player, which includes all green fees, cart fees and lunch. Each member of the winning team will receive a $100 gift certificate to the country club and a commemorative tournament golf shirt.

Members of the second place team will each receive $50 country club gift certificates and third place team members will receive $25 gift certificates.

Prizes will also be awarded for the longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin contests.

“A $10,000 prize will also be awarded to any golfer fortunate enough to hit a hole-in-one on one of the designated holes that day,” added Wolff.

Lunch will be provided for all golfers from noon to 1 p.m. Individuals that would like to attend, but do not to play golf, may purchase lunch for $10.

One may register by calling the Chamber office at 618-382-7606 or by stopping at the office located in the City Building on West Main Street. Office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am-2pm. The deadline for golf registrations is Friday, June 15th.
