Illinois State Police District 19 troopers investigated a single vehicle traffic accident in Wayne County that occurred just before 6 pm Thursday.
According to the preliminary crash report, 18 year old Anne Klingler of Sumner was driving west on Highway 16 just east of County Road 1600E when her pickup left the roadway. Klingler then overcompensated, causing the truck to skid and leave the highway. The pickup then struck a ditch embankment and overturned.
Klingler, two adult passengers, and a one year old passenger were transported to an area hospital by ambulance. All of the adults were wearing their seatbelts, and the child was in a child safety seat.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Cisne Fire Department, North Wayne Ambulance Service, and the Wayne County Ambulance Service.
Klingler was cited for improper lane usage and violation of an instruction permit.
