FOID Cards
With the Pritzker Administration vowing to update gun control laws, it’s interesting to note there are over two million active Firearm Owner’s Identification Cards on record in Illinois.
Here in White County there are 4863 active FOID card holders. Last year, there were 23 FOID cards revoked in White County.
In Wayne County, there are 6333 FOID card holders. There were 34 cards revoked this past year in Wayne County.
3178 is the number of FOID cards in Hamilton County, where 21 cards were revoked last year.
The number of revoked cards could go up this year, as there are indications Illinois law enforcement agencies will begin rounding up the cards of area residents who have had their FOID cards revoked.
While some of the revocations are due to criminal activity, many of the revoked cards were from Illinois residents who received authorization for medical cannabis and had to surrender their FOID cards as a condition of the medical cannabis regulations.
