Chief Judge Thomas Tedeschi is pleased to announce that Darla F. Fitzjerrells has been promoted to Director of Court Services of the Second Judicial Circuit of Illinois effective August 1, 2017. Director Fitzjerrells will be responsible for overseeing the operations of all probation departments within the Second Judicial Circuit of Illinois as well as the Franklin County Detention Center. The Second Circuit of Illinois encompasses 12 counties and is geographically the largest circuit in Illinois. Counties within the Second Circuit of Illinois include: Crawford, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jefferson, Lawrence, Richland, Wabash, Wayne and White.
Chief Judge Tedeschi states, “I am extremely pleased to have found such a qualified individual with almost two decades of service to the Second Judicial Circuit of Illinois to fill this most important position of Director of Court Services. Her experience, work ethic, leadership qualities and dedication to the people of the Second Judicial Circuit of Illinois will be of great benefit in performing the duties of Director of Court Services”.
Director Fitzjerrells has over 19 years experience in probation, serving both as a probation officer and most recently as the Chief Probation Officer for the Second Division of Probation in the Second Judicial Circuit of Illinois. Director Fitzjerrells also possesses a Masters of Arts Degree in Administration of Justice from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
