Final Petition Filings
April 2, 2019 is the date for the consolidated elections, when local voters will elect city council members and school board members.
Those seeking office had until Monday at the close of business to file their petitions. Earlier this week, WROY/WRUL News reported on both the Carmi council and the Carmi White County School Board, and those who filed earlier in the day Monday.
Today, we have an update on those filing as Andy Accord did file for the Carmi White County School board. Also filing for the school board are incumbents, Brent Hammell, Barbara Mitchell and Tom Scates, along with challenger Mathew McCarty.
There are no races for the Carmi City Council, as those seeking election or re-election all filed unopposed.
They include Ward One alderman Jeremy Courson; Mike Knight of Ward Two; Mark Blake of Ward Three and seeking the Ward Four seat is Jim Totten.
Keith Davis had picked up a petition for Ward Four, but did not file according to City Clerk Cynthia Attebury.
Polls will open at 6 am for the consolidated elections and close at 7, as they do for each election.
