Mt. Carmel Police were called to Buehler’s Buy Low late last evening reference a fight in progress. According to the arresting officer, Corey L. Alvey, age 25, of Hawesville, Kentucky struck a Nathan A. Aud in the head knocking him out. Alvey and Aud were contracted floor cleaners and got into an argument that resulted in Alvey striking Aud hard enough to make him pass out for 10-15 seconds. Aud was transported to Wabash General Hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained during the fight. Alvey was transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond. Alvey is charged with aggravated battery.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested Breea S. Galiher, age 20, and William E. Umfleet, age 26, both of Albion after they were stopped in the 600 block of N. Market Street. The arresting officer reported seeing Galiher operating a motor vehicle and knew she was wanted on a Wabash County warrant. Galiher was stopped and subsequently arrested on the criminal trespass warrant. A search of the vehicle resulted in officer’s locating cannabis and drug paraphernalia. Galiher took responsibility for the contraband and was charged with drugs and paraphernalia. Umfleet was also arrested on a Wabash County criminal trespass warrant. Both subjects were transported to the Wabash County Jail and held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested Shannon D. Swatlsey, age 31, of Mt. Carmel after she was accused of shoplifting clothing from Dollar General Store. Mt. Carmel Police were notified of the shoplifting and located her leaving the Dollar General Store parking lot. Swatsley was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with shoplifting and held pending the posting of bond.

Mt. Carmel Police arrested Kala N. Fritschle, age 24, of Mt. Carmel after she was accused of shoplifting children party favors from Dollar General. Dollar General called Police and advised Fritschle left the store with the merchandise. Police located Fritschle and the stolen merchandise. Fristchle was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with retail theft. Fristchle was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested Christopher M. Lockhart, age 29, of Mt. Carmel on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant. Lockhart was located in the 600 block of Poplar Street where he was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail. Lockhart was held pending the posting of bond.
Mt. Carmel Police arrested Brandon W. Edwards, age 33, of Mt. Carmel on a Wabash County failure to appear warrant. Edwards was located in the 100 block of E. 2nd Street where he was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail. Edwards was held pending the posting of bond.
