Farm Bureau Urges Quick Consideration of Farm Bill
The Illinois Farm Bureau recently released a statement concerning the Farm Bill Conference Committee Agreement. Local Farm Bureau Manager Doug Anderson provided WROY/WRUL News with the statement from Farm Bureau President Richard Guebert Jr. regarding the agreement “in principle” reached by the U.S. House and Senate Agricultural Committee leadership.
“Farmers need certainty in these challenging times. Agreement on a conference report is a welcome relief for the many hundreds of Illinois Farm Bureau members across the state who have been contacting their congressmen and senators over the past several weeks urging final action before the end of the year.”
The farm bill’s an important piece of legislation on which farmers and consumers alike depend. We look forward to reviewing the bill’s provisions and urge quick consideration.”
