Mayor Tom Harbour noted that the White County Sheriff’s Office was raising neighboring Norris City’s dispatch fees and Enfield’s was going up as well, but didn’t know by how much. The board members complained of not being able to afford an increase without having to raise fees. Harbour said he would get in touch with Norris City Mayor Roy Kissell to discus the situation and see what they can come up with.
Part-time officer Mark Worlds is just getting started with his job. and the police car battery has now been fixed.
Village attorney Johnathan Turpin sent a letter to Sonjay Gupta, who now lives in Florida, telling him to sign the agreement to pay $12,000 he owes in property taxes and return it by January 1st or face a lawsuit. Gupta said he would sign and return it before the deadline.
The village purchased a hydraulic crimping tool for $1,500 to be used for live gas lines. A crimping tool is used to join two pieces of metal together in a way that causes them to hold each other. The result of the tool’s work is called a crimp.
Electrical work will be done next summer on the north side of Main Street to put up next year’s Christmas decorations.
The board agreed to a half hour extension to Hickory Creek Hideaway for New Year’s Eve only. Last call will be at 12:30 AM with closing time at 1 AM.
There were 28 kids that attended Santa Sunday and 20 $25 gift cards were handed out. Mayor Harbour thanked everyone involved.
