For a little over an hour, the Board members discussed changing the way they conduct Village business. They agreed that all the members are to be kept up to date on everything that goes on and to make sure decisions go through the proper channels, even though sometimes emergencies arise that require immediate action.
There was also discussion on raising water rates and they’ll try to come up with a plan soon.
A special meeting was held on November 8th concerning purchasing new software for Village billing purposes. They agreed to buy software from LIHEAP and work out an agreement with First Bank for online bill paying.
The annual audit was presented by Justin Dartt of Botsch and Associates CPA’s. He said the Village is doing well and isn’t spending more money than budgeted.
In the police report for October, a vehicle was broken into. Also, seven traffic stops were made and two tickets were written.
In the utilities report, two gas lines were removed and one was put in.
The big tree at the park has been removed and the restrooms there are being winterized.
Clean-up day went well.
Santa Claus will be at his house to visit with children on Sunday, December 11th from two to four p.m.
And the Board agreed to purchase ten 2014 edition Illinois Municipal Handbooks for $400. The handbooks they have there now are from 2002.
It was decided that the December Village Board meeting be moved up a week to Tuesday, December 13th at 7 p.m.
