Enfield Trustees Not Happy With Proposed Dispatch Cost
The village received a letter from the White County Sheriff’s Office informing them that Enfield will now be charged $500 a month for dispatch service effective January 1st 2019. 9-1-1 service will continue to be provided at no charge. None of the board members thought it was fair that they should now have to pay and after much discussion, Mayor Tom Harbour said that he and Norris City Mayor Roy Kissell will have a meeting at the sheriff’s office on Thursday morning to discuss the matter.
Several more residents will be sent letters to clean up their properties with possible legal action taken if they do not make a good faith effort to comply.
Mayor Harbour sent a letter to the proposed Solar Farm representatives telling them that if the village is awarded the project and acquires funding, they can begin building it.
Enfield residents are warned to call “Julie” before they dig, because someone recently dug up ground to put in an electrical line and accidentally hit a water line, causing about $2,000 in damage.
And the Mayor received a call from a man named Jessie Brown that he was interested in purchasing the Food Shoppe. He would put in a small store at ground level and put in an apartment on the second floor. That’s the only information at this time.
Finally, Mayor Harbour wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
