Kids looking to beat the heat this Thursday can thank the Carmi Elks Lodge. The organization has received a grant and will utilize it to offer a free swim day at the Carmi Swimming Pool on July 26th for the first 120 kids. Included with entry will be a $5 snack voucher. A rain date of July 31st has been announced, though the weather forecast currently only calls for a slight chance of showers in the afternoon and a high of 89 degrees.
