An Eldorado man was sentenced to eleven years in federal prison on Wednesday at the US District Court in Benton.
36 year old David E Garris II was charged with possessing with intent to distribute 39 grams of methamphetamine according to acting US Attorney James Porter.
Garris was arrested by Illinois State Police after a routine traffic stop on March 21, 2015 in Saline County. He was found to be in possession of the drugs and $4180 in cash. At the time of his arrest, Garris was on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections after a five year sentence for possession of methamphetamine manufacturing materials.
The case was investigated by the Illinois State Police and the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force.
