Edwards County man sought after no show in court

In Edwards County Court on Friday, 27 year old Nathan Ellison of West Salem was convicted in absentia of a charge of failure to register as a sex offender after he failed to appear in court.

Judge Michael Valentine sentenced Ellison to six years in prison with two years of mandatory supervised release following incarceration.  Ellison was ordered to pay all mandatory fines, fees, costs, and assessments in the case as well.

Ellison was prosecuted by States Attorney Eric St. Ledger and was represented by attorney Roger White.

A no bond warrant was issued for the capture of Ellison, who also has an outstanding warrant out of Jefferson County for violating parole and pending charges in Franklin County for burglary.

Anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts of Nathan Ellison are urged to contact the Edwards County Sheriff’s Department at 618-445-2721.
