Donna Sullivan and Martha Heflin retire from FMH Board of Directors

Pictured are Martha Heflin and Donna Sullivan who were presented plaques in honor of their 33 years of service to the FMH Board of Directors, along with Fairfield Memorial Hospital Board of Directors President, Patrick L. Molt, M.D., and the two new members of the FMH Board of Directors, Clark Griffith and Donna Masterson.

It is with great honor and respect that Fairfield Memorial Hospital announces the retirement of Donna Sullivan & Martha Heflin, who have both provided leadership on the Board of Directors since 1984. Martha also has served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Directors from January 2015-January 2017.

“I have watched Fairfield Memorial Hospital and Horizon Healthcare grow so much, and I have seen a huge growth of the role of Administration.  Our decision of building the Horizon Medical Arts Complex has been a real blessing for everyone.  I am so proud of our Emergency Department and evolving to better serve our community by expanding services with our Urgent Care.  I have enjoyed serving with all of the board members, sharing responsibilities, and being on committees.  I truly enjoyed it.  I was also on the board during my tenure at the Wayne County Health Department, and I felt I made a contribution to the board’s community-wide view of health.  I would like to give special recognition to the board leadership we have had over the years including Harlan Yates, Mike St. Ledger and Patrick Molt, M.D.,” shared Martha Heflin.

“This was the hardest decision for me to make, as the reason I went on the Board was because my husband Mike’s Grandfather L.A. Blackburn was an essential part of getting the hospital built back in 1950.  However, I felt like it was time for me to focus on my own health and feel someone else could come in and be more vibrant in their contributions,” stated Donna Sullivan.

Katherine Bunting-Williams, Ph.D., FMH CEO stated, “These two honorable ladies have given 33 years of dedicated service to our Board of Directors.  They have not only been trusted advisors during many healthcare changes, but also helped to lead our organization down a path of expansion for many years to come.  We are pleased to announce our two newest board members Donna Masterson and Clark Griffith, who will be filling the vacancies left by Donna Sullivan and Martha Heflin.  We feel both of these individuals will be vibrant and forward-thinking advisors to assist us in our continued growth.
