At Thursday’s Rotary meeting, Don Winkleman was the program. Don discussed several topics with the Rotarians. He thanked the Rotarians for helping out in the Salvation Army drive to collect funds for the needy. He noted that several former oil field workers have requested aid for food and medicine after the downturn in the industry. White County Build was the next topic. With the weather getting better, he noted several needy projects that needed to be worked on. There will be a meeting of the White County Build next Thursday, April 28 at 7PM at the old Lions Den to plan these projects. Anyone wishing to help out is encouraged to attend. He reminded Rotarians that the Lions Club will hold their barbeque at Bradshaw Park in conjunction with Opening Day. The barbeque tickets will be $7. Finally, he told the club that the new building the Lions are constructing is just about done.
In club business, members discussed their spring fundraiser. They will have a fish fry with hush puppies and several sides. A date should be set in the next week. Don Winkleman won the 50/50 drawing and but did not select the pink ball so the pot rolls over. Tom Logan named Cindy Conley the phantom. Andy Williams and Little Giant prepared a delicious meal for the Rotarians Pictures are provided by Kenny Harrelson. The club meets at noon on Thursday at the First United Methodist Church. Anyone wishing to get involved is encouraged to come help Rotary with the many local projects and charities that are supported.
