Do You Know Where Your Children Are Online
Today’s younger generation of students are highly proficient using digital devices such as smart-phones, computers and tablets, so much so, that their daily communication relies a lot on the digital world.
Brad Lee, Carmi White County Unit 5 Superintendent, a guest on Open Line, a few weeks ago, said there is an important seminar coming up on that topic.
The program will be held from 5:30 until 7, Thursday night, Nov. 8 at Jefferson Attendance Center.
Christine Feller, a cyber crime specialist with the High Tech Crimes Bureau of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office will be the guest speaker for the evening. She educates children, parents and community members on their role as digital citizens. She will discuss the topics of exploitation, cyber-bullying and sexting, in relation to technologies used by children.
The program is open to everyone. Light refreshments and childcare will be provided.
