A national event to raise awareness about Type 2 Diabetes sponsored nationally by the American
Diabetes Association and locally by the Diabetes Today Resource Team (DTRT) will be held
March 27 at 3 locations in our area.
In less than 60 seconds, you can know if you are at risk for
developing Type 2 Diabetes. You will also learn more about how to prevent it, and how to fight
back to help transform lives. Also available will be blood pressure checks, glucose and
cholesterol screenings, body mass index, as well as diet and exercise tips, and smoking cessation
information. A review of individual results with a healthcare provider will be available, all at no
charge to the participant. Giveaways will be held as well as the opportunity to sign up for
upcoming diabetes self-management classes.
Three area locations are hosting this event. They include Walmart pharmacy in Harrisburg,
Golden Circle in Ridgway, and Plum Street Pharmacy in Carmi. The event is Tuesday, March
28, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Rides Mass Transit is providing transportation to each location
at no charge to the public.
