Details have emerged from the I 64 accident that occurred yesterday morning in Wayne County. Illinois State Police say 28 year old Anthony Peluso of Stockton California was eastbound driving a blue 2015 Freightliner Semi with an ‘05 SnowBear box trailer in tow when, due to driver inattention, he left the south side of the roadway, overcorrected, and then jackknifed the rig.
It overturned and came to rest on the driver’s side where it remained for several hours yesterday. Reports are that Peluso allegedly fell asleep at the wheel. He was transported to Fairfield Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. One can reasonably ascertain Peluso is lucky to be alive given the tickets he received including Failure to Wear a Seatbelt. Additionally he is cited for Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, along with two commercial motor vehicle related violations.
