Desk and Derrick Convention
The 67th annual Association of Desk and Derrick Clubs Convention and Educational Conference is on-going in Evansville and will wrap up Saturday.
Those attending the conference were treated to field trips Wednesday and had a choice of either a Day on the Farm in Southern Illinois, Barkely Dam and Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky or the CountryMark Refinery in Mt. Vernon, Ind.
Thursday (today) there are a number of energy related seminars planned raning from oil well drilling to land surveying. A certification class in oil well completion and production was also offered Thursday. The business segment of the conference will begin Friday.
ADDC President Christian Forth will deliver the opening address. Evansville’s Deputy Mayor Steve Schaefer will also speak to the conference members. There will be an esteemed panel of energy experts at a planned symposium on Transporting Hydrocarbon Products.
The keynote speaker at Friday’s industry luncheon will be Brad Richards, former Executive VP of the Illinois Oil and Gas Association.
Friday night will celebrate the women and men who produce, pump, gauge and transport oil.
The convention will wrap up Saturday with additional business meetings in the morning and a banquet Saturday evening, featuring Illinois State Representative, Terri Bryant as the keynote speaker.
