Fairfield Memorial Hospital Chief Nurse Executive, Ann Ignas, announced during a recent ceremony that Derek Rude, RN, who works on Med/Surg, ICU, and at Wound Care Specialists, has been named FMH’s Employee of the Year by his peers. During the ceremony, each monthly nominee was recognized for their commitment in providing compassion for those they serve.
“Derek has been bestowed this honor by his peers. He is a nurse who delivers excellent care to his patients to the extent that many have requested him as their nurse and are saddened if he is not working that day. Patients and staff have often spoken of the compassion he has for those he cares for within each department he works. Derek’s customer service is a wonderful example of the type of care we strive to deliver here at FMH,” said Ann Ignas, RN, MSN, FMH Chief Nurse Executive.
“I’m able to do what I do because my coworkers go above and beyond what is expected of them. Excellent patient care starts with quality participation from all team members from every department who share the same goal, which leads to success,” stated Derek Rude, RN, FMH Employee of the Year.
Derek resides in Fairfield and has been employed at FMH for over three years and currently works as a Register Nurse serving patients on Med/Surg, ICU, and at the Wound Care Center.
