Deer Harvest Totals
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources released the harvest totals for the first half of the state’s two part shotgun deer season this past week.
White County Hunters harvested a total of 527 deer, up from last year’s first half of the firearm season, when White county hunters took 499 deer.
Wayne County hunters harvested 1022 deer, compared to 980 a year ago.
149 deer were harvested in Wabash County, compared to 123 in 2017.
Hardin County hunters took 690, Hamilton County hunters harvested 836 deer; 286 were taken in Gallatin county and Clay county hunters harvested 932 deer.
Saline County hunters took 666 deer, while Pope County hunters harvested 1176 deer during the first half of the firearms season.
Hunters will be back in the field this weekend as the second half of the two part shotgun deer hunting season begins Thursday, Nov. 29 and concludes Sunday, Dec. 2.
