Do you have a child, niece, or grandchild between the age of 3 and 5? If so, Carmi White County schools are offering screenings for children in that age range who aren’t kindergarten eligible this fall. The screenings check each child’s progress in hearing, vision, speech, language and coordination skills. It’s a free service that gives parents and caregivers a better idea of how their child is functioning prior to beginning school. Feedback is immediate and Head Start personnel are also expected to be available to explain services available.
The screenings will be held on August 23rd and 24th from 8:30am to 2:30pm at the Trinity Assembly of God, 1600 Saunders Avenue in Carmi. The screening procedure takes about 45 minutes. Appointments are required. Phone 382 – 4631 to make an appointment.
