The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane closures on State Road 66 for a box culvert replacement.
Beginning on or around Tuesday, July 3, contractors will restrict the eastbound lane of S.R. 66 near the intersection of St. Phillips Road for a large box culvert replacement. Crews will extract the culvert and replace it with a new one, requiring excavation of the roadway. During the project, traffic will be controlled by temporary signal. Once work is complete in the eastbound lane, work will begin in the westbound lane. Lane closures will be in place around the clock and are expected to last until late summer, depending upon weather conditions. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place for all open lanes for the duration of the project. Traffic wider than 10 feet should seek an alternate route using the nearest state roads.
INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
