A Crossville man has died following burn injuries sustained Tuesday in an oil well explosion east of Crossville.
A deputy coroner in Jefferson County, Kentucky reported that 33 year old Steven Smith passed away around 3 pm Thursday at the University of Louisville Hospital burn unit.
Smith was airlifted to Louisville after witnesses say that the well head broke loose and caught fire. Smith was trying to shut down operations when the explosion occurred. Two other workers were uninjured.
