White County Sheriff Doug Maier and two deputies arrested 29 year old Michael T. Jordan of Crossville on a White County warrant for possession of a controlled substance Friday afternoon after getting information about his location.
Jordan was reported to be at the residence of his brother at 406 W Main Street. The home owner said that Jordan was not there, but allowed a search of the home.
Maier located Jordan hiding in a basement room, but told officers that his name was Nick, not Michael. As he was being placed in custody, Jordan tried to run away, but was subdued and arrested. The homeowner told officers he was unaware Jordan was in the house.
Jordan was transported to the White County Jail where he is being held on a $1000 bond for the warrant, and an additional $150 bond on a charge of resisting a police officer.
