CrossFit Little Egypt will again be hosting the Battle in the Burg on July 16 and 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the Saline County Fairgrounds in Harrisburg.
The Battle in the Burg is a CrossFit competition for all ages consisting of teams of men and women from all over the Midwest. Admission is free. Registration and practice are July 15.
Last year’s competition saw over 180 participants from 6 states try to take home the title of champion, and more are expected this year. Vendors will also be present for various sales, food and drink.
Attendees can check out the CrossFit exercise program and be introduced to the newly expanded CrossFit Little Egypt. It has grown in membership immensely since its opening and is still expanding.
The Workforce & Illinois Small Business Development Center (WISBDC) at Southeastern Illinois College assisted with the opening of the new gym.
“The WISBDC knows the demographics of the five county district of Southeastern Illinois College and has the resources to help anyone that wants to start a small business,” said Kristin King, owner of CrossFit Little Egypt.
