County Board Meeting Tuesday
The White County Board will meet for the first time this new year at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the upstairs courtroom of the White County Courthouse.
This may be the first meeting of the county board in several months that some type of controversial topic doesn’t top the agenda. And while the agenda is quite full, many of the nearly 20 items should be fairly routine.
The board will consider the 2019 dues for the United Counties Council of Illinois Board Members.
The appointments of Cindy Conley and Katherine Sands to two year terms on the Illinois South Tourism Board will likely be approved. The terms will run from Dec. 1, 2018 through Nov. 30, 2020.
Stan Armstrong will likely be appointed to the Half moon Drainage District for a term ending in September 2021.
The board will also consider a resolution concerning parcels to be sold at the White County Trustees sale.
Medical healthcare at the jail will be covered along with the annual resolution placing load limits on county roads from January through April, a period of 90 days. The resolution will put a five ton per axle load limit on the roads.
And there is a chance, air conditioning at the dog pound will be revisited, although it had appeared that issued had died at a previous board meeting.
There may be an executive session.
The county board normally meets the second Tuesday of each month, with the next meeting set for Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.
