County Board Meeting Set for Tuesday Morning
The White County Board will meet for the second of its two mandated day meetings Tuesday morning at 9a.m for what appears to be a fairly full agenda.
The board will consider borrowing $150,000 short term. That money if approved would be used to help bring back paramedics and Advanced Life Support status for the local ambulance service. Board members will also be asked to adopt a resolution that directs the public safety tax to support an ambulance service.
The White County Dog Pound will be addressed at the county board will be asked to consider surrendering fees for dogs that are being detained and to consider approving air conditioning for the dog pound, White County’s side. The electrical work is expected to be paid for by a third party.
The board will consider a proposal to pave the parking lot between the jail and the annex building.
Insurance will also be discussed as Mark Kelly, a representative of Guardian Insurance will ask for renewal of dental, life and vision insurance. He is also expected to present a new product. The 2019 insurance premiums of the Hope Trust will also be addressed.
A representative of White County Soil and Water Conservation District will attend the meeting to ask for the annual contribution from the county in the amount of $2,500.
Other business includes reports from county officers and routine matters.
The meeting will actually be recessed until the November meeting, at which time the board will cover the budget and tax levy.
Day meetings are held in September and June, the next White County Board meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
