Hard to believe, but 11 years have passed since Corn Day adopted a namesake game that’s still as popular as ever as one of it’s prime events. The 12th annual Corn Day Cornhole Tournament has been scheduled for Friday, October 11th and will once again be held in the First Mid Illinois Bank and Trust drive thru parking lot. Tournament Chairman Clint Taylor says registration will begin at 5:30pm with first round games set to get underway at 6pm. The entry fee is $20 and the top 3 teams all win cash prizes as does the consolation champ. You’ll need to go ahead and sign up in advance to guarantee your spot in the tournament however as it’s limited to the first 32 two person teams. Taylor says in addition to it being a relaxed, good time environment, the competition is real and the group has secured brand new bags this year. Advance registration is available by stopping by Taylor Eye Care on Falcone Avenue during normal business hours. Additional details are available by calling or texting Taylor at 618-383-4206.
We’ll have the entire Corn Days schedule online in the coming days available on the home page of wrul.com.
