Corn Day Winners
Corn day 2018 is in the books and it appears to have been another success, thanks to the hard work of the Carmi Kiwanis, the sponsoring club of the annual October festival.
Saturday was a full day, concluding with the music of Parmalee.
That followed the giant Corn Days parade. This year, to no surprise, Brownsville School won the top float honors and Cub Scout Pack 340 was second.
There were a number of winners in the morning’s pet parade.
The Best TV/movie character costume was won by Avery Duncan, as the Little Mermaid. Rio with the Haleys won second.
Best decorated tricycle was was by Kenley Davis; best decorated bicycle; Bryant and Adler O’Daniel with Mario and Luigi.
Prettiest pet was won by Vera Birdsley with Rizzo, a mini aussie. Second was Aerielle McWhirter with Leo (a goldendoodle.
Most Unusual Pet was won by nick Miller with his bearded dragon. Wyatt Pretzsch and Sloan Thomason won second with their goats.
The Best floats were Jurassic Park with Taytem Murray, Brock Bayley, Chase Bayley, Tucker Bayley and Cameron Keller.
Second was Under the Sea with Mason Turner, Bree Owen, Ethan Dobbs, hallie Dobbs, Graylee Holloman and Wrigley Holloman.
Third place float was Cinderalla with Hadley Williams.
Chili Cookoff winners were Taster Choice; Emily Williams; Most Team Spirit; The Taco Factory,who also won best business entry; First Place went to the Elks and second place was won by the Lions Club.
