If you want to be the envy of your friends and neighbors this 92nd annual Corn Days, you’re going to need something that helps you stand out…something that for years to come will be remembered in photos. With that in mind, the Carmi Kiwanis Club has a limited supply of Corn Cob Corn Day hats that are on sale until the supply runs out. The unique headwear is similar in fashion to what Green Bay Packer fans don on their heads for games, save for it being a corn cob rather than a hunk of cheese. Each hat is $20 and are only available at three Carmi locations. You can get your corn cob hat at Dartt & Company on Walnut Street, First Mid Illinois Bank and Trust on Main next to the radio station, or at Peoples National Bank, located on Commerce. If the quantity isn’t sold out, you’ll be able to get a hat on Corn Day itself, October 12th from a booth on Main Street, but it’s highly possible they’ll be sold out in advance. Not that you would need extra incentive to purchase the commemorative head gear, but purchasing a corn cob hat also enters you into a drawing for $100 cash to be given away on Corn Day.
