Close One for Lady Bulldogs
The Lady Bulldogs showed a lot of heart with an impressive fourth-quarter comeback Monday night, but fell just short to visiting Fairfield, 37-34.
Carmi trailed 33-19 after three quarters, then outscored the Lady Mules 15-4 over the final eight minutes and actually had a chance to tie in the closing seconds. Fairfield, though, was able to escape with the win.
Senior Julia Smith led Carmi with 12 points, while junior Sydney Lucas added 11, senior Mayci Edwards six, junior Mariah VanMatre three and freshman Elleigh Gray two.
The Lady ‘Dogs were originally scheduled to travel to Gallatin County tonight, but that game has been moved to Wednesday night.
