Classes Still Available Through SIC’s Mini-Semester

Though the fall semester is underway, there are still opportunities to get involved in classes at Southeastern Illinois College. SIC offers a variety of classes through a mini-semester. These classes take place over an eight-week period.

Mini-semester courses are available in a wide array of areas of study and duration. Various subjects are available, such as Intro to Macroeconomics, American Government, Health, Safety and Nutrition, Job Skills Development and Keyboarding. Most classes will begin on Oct. 10, while some are scheduled to start on Sep. 11.

The agenda includes mostly online classes in both academic major and general education areas that could be attractive to traditional students who have the option to fit another course into their schedule, or have a specific course they need to finish before graduation or transfer.

Many courses are available in Biofuels studies. These include Biodiesel production and Ethanol Production, which begin on Oct. 10. On campus, CPR courses are available throughout the semester along with Illinois Concealed Carry classes. These one-time attendance classes are scheduled for several dates through the semester. Beginning Oct. 10, second eight-week Welding classes are available, which will run through Dec. 5.

Students currently enrolled at SIC may register for these classes through MySIC.
