Carmi City Police were busy Wednesday investigating several accidents that occurred throughout the day.
There were no injuries reported in any of the accidents, but one did result in a citation for one of the drivers.
Police responded to a minor accident that occurred on the Pundrake parking lot, when Sheena N. Garret, of Crossville was struck by a vehicle driven by Jeffery Rawlinson, of Carmi. Garret told authorities she had stopped in the parking lot, waiting for a vehicle to move, when she was hit by the Rawlinson vehicle. Rawlinson told police he did not see the Garrett vehicle prior to the collision.
Both vehicles sustained over $1500 worth of damage, but were driven from the scene, following the crash around 11:15 that morning.
A second crash occurred around 5:20, when Peyton B. Frymire of 701 Smith Str, Carmi, crashed into a trailer pulled by Logan D. Warren, 714 Montgomery Circles, Carmi. Frymire told police he was turning his radio down and failed to see the Warren vehicle stopped at the intersection. Both vehicles were driven from the scene and no injuries were reported in that crash.
The third crash occurred just before 6, when Chase Edmonds, of rural Carmi, failed to stop in time to avoid crashing into the rear of a vehicle driven by Bryan R. Mobley of Fifth Street, Carmi.
Edmonds was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Both vehicles sustained over $1500 worth of damage. Mobley and Edmonds both escaped injury in the collision.
